About

Who I Am

I spent two years studying software engineering before switching to marketing. I liked understanding how things worked, but wanted to spend more time with people, ideas, and answering the question of why someone should care. I earned my BBA in Marketing at Kennesaw State University. Thankfully, the technical curiosity stuck with me.

That combination still shapes how I work. I want to understand the product well enough to explain it clearly, then find the part that matters to the person on the other end. A feature list is useful, but they rarely tell the whole story.

The engineering detour turned out to be useful.

I’m based just north of Atlanta, where I am currently the Marketing Manager at PTI Security Systems, part of ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions.

Outside my professional role, I build apps for problems that have become too specific to leave alone. Ordinalist is what happens when a love of music meets a desire share your favorite (and least favorite) tracks with friends. Backward came from desiring an app to see what happened on this day in my personal history. Apparently, having opinions needed infrastructure.

The marketing is part of building them. Each app needs a distinct identity, a reason for someone to care, and a voice that holds together across product explanations, website copy, and promotion. Moving between those formats has been as much an exercise in writing and brand-building as the apps have been in software.

That same curiosity and drive to make something better than what is out there shows up in my professional work as well as my hobbies, including writing, recipes, and traveling. I like taking a question far enough that I can do something with the answer. Sometimes that becomes a campaign. Sometimes it becomes software. Typically, it is just dinner.

Outside The Office

My partner and I share our home with Willow, Earl, and Bailey, three cats with a reliable talent for getting themselves (and each other) into trouble. I spend time hiking and working out, and I’m almost always looking for new music. I’m also an avid Taylor Swift fan. If you're ready to agree (or argue) that folklore and reputation are her best bodies of work, reach out.
